"Inflatable lifting chair to lift safely"

Lift a fallen person from the floor to a safe, comfortable sitting position at the touch of a button with the Mangar Camel lifting chair.

Lifting a fallen person from the floor by hand can not only be difficult, but also potentially dangerous. The Camel lifting chair from Mangar offers a robust, straightforward and easy to use solution. The Mangar Camel is designed to reduce moving and handling risks and enhance independent living by being simple enough for anyone to use.

The Camel provides a dignified lifting solution, which can remove the need to call for outside help to recover from a fall. The Mangar Camel lifting chair is supplied as two key components; the Airflo battery-powered compressor and the heavy duty inflatable lifting chair. Also supplied are the durable air hoses which connect the compressor to the lifting chair.

A fallen person can be helped onto the deflated lifting chair, which is then gently and steadily inflated, section-by-section, beginning with the back rest. The person aiding can then simply help to keep the fallen person steady if required, until the chair is fully inflated. Now safely in a sitting position, the user can then either be helped onto an adjacent chair, or helped up to a standing position, while putting much less stress and load on the assisting person’s back. After use, the Camel can be easily deflated, rolled up and stored safely away.

The Camel is suitable for use anywhere: a care home setting, at home or even out of doors and is particularly suitable for very large or bariatric people, with an upper lifting weight limit of 50St (320Kg).

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a particular way of connecting the hoses to the inflatable cushion?

Yes. When connecting the hoses, you must ensure that the coloured and numbered hoses connect to the corresponding connectors on the cushion.

Can I use the Camel lifting chair while it is still plugged into the mains power?

Yes, although even when the charger is plugged into the mains power, the Airflo unit will still be running from the battery power. Any use of the unit whilst charging will interrupt the charging of the battery and power will be drained from the battery.

Can I take the Camel lifting chair on holiday?

Yes. The product is very portable and can be used all over the world. Simply take the appropriate travel plug (not supplied), as you would for any other electrical item, should you need to charge it whilst overseas. For countries where the power supply is 110v, a different charging unit can be purchased separately. Contact our Customer Service team for more details.

How do I know there will be enough charge in the Airflo unit to inflate the cushion?

It is recommended by the manufacturer of the Camel that it is left plugged in and charging at all times when not in use, to ensure that it is always fully charged and ready to use whenever needed.
